Immune Boosting Superdrink – Stay Healthy Naturally

I don’t know about you, but I am sick and tired of being sick and tired every winter!

Before I became a nutritional practitioner, I would ‘catch’ every cold, flu and infection possible. October to March was often a state of suffering for me as I spent many long hours waiting in a walk in clinic or doctors office. Each time I left with nothing more than a new prescription of antibiotics and Campbell’s chicken noodle soup. 

My experience taught me some valuable lessons and opened my eyes to the reality of the medical and pharmaceutical system – it’s about treating symptoms, not about healing the person.

Since then, I’ve put together a ‘tool-kit’ for healthy  self-care. This year, it’s all about cold & flu prevention the natural way – using the foods, spices and natural medicines nature intended us to use! An essential part of this prevention kit is my Immune Boosting Superdrink – I absolutely love this drink and I know you will too. 

Immune Boosting Superdrink
An incredibly effective and delicious apple cider vinegar based drink to boost your immune system and fight off the cold and flu.
Write a review
  1. 2 cups water
  2. 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (raw, unpasteurized, organic)
  3. 1/4 lemon
  4. 1 tbsp turmeric
  5. 1 tsp cayenne
  6. 1 tsp ginger
  7. 2 drops of stevia or 1 tsp raw honey
  1. Simple! Add everything together, stir and enjoy!
  2. Best taken 20 minutes before a meal
  1. *Avoid brushing your teeth within 30 minutes of taking this, to protect the enamel on your pearly whites 🙂
First off, Bragg’s Raw, Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar is a godsend. This cultured, fermented apple cider contains ‘mother’ strands of proteins, enzymes and friendly bacteria. It is anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-pathogenic, meaning it kills off the bugs and bacteria that proliferate during the winter. 

Anyone who comes over to my place with a cold, sinus congestion or sore throat gets a shot of this stuff. It opens you up and clears you out! 

At the same time, ACV also helps with digestion and detoxification as it stimulates the liver and the release of bile from the gallbladder. The hydrochloric acid is what helps break down food, strengthen the digestive process and destroy harmful bacteria that may have been ingested with your meal.  

*It is very important to drink an ACV which is raw and unpasteurized so that it is still a live enzymatic and beneficial bacteria rich product. Once it’s been cooked and processed it becomes a dead product with little benefit. 

Turmeric, Cayenne & Ginger – Ayurvedic Blend

Turmeric is on fire right now! We’re seeing it pop up everywhere – and for good reason too! This yellow spice best known for brightening up curry is a serious superstar spice and medicinal herb. 

It’s bioactive compounds are known for boosting the immune system, protecting the heart, increasing circulation, lowering inflammation and even combating cancer cells! 

Cayenne is similar to turmeric in it’s benefits, as it is anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and a vasodilator (it widens the blood vessels, increases blood flow and helps warm you up). It also boosts metabolism and helps digestion. I love starting my day off with this spice as it really wakes me up and gets my body going!

Ginger is amazing for so many reasons. Specifically in this superdrink, it brings this wonderful grounding and warming property. The combination of these three spices are common in the traditional medical practice of Ayurveda (used across the Eastern countries and among more and more yogis in the Western world). 

All About That Lemon Water 

Stop – wait a minute… fill my cup, put some lemon in it!

From a person who never liked the taste of water (now I know it’s because I’d always drank city tap water), I couldn’t live without my lemon water! Adding freshly squeezed organic lemon or lime to your water is a wonderful way to flavor it up and get a nice boost of vitamin C and pectin fiber. One more subtle way to detoxify the liver and flush the body of toxins! 

When To Take Apple Cider Vinegar?

I take one serving of this immune boosting drink in the morning, 20 minutes before breakfast and again in the evening, 20 minutes before dinner. You can make it into a shot that you take all at once or fill a large mason jar and sip throughout the day. You can also have it as a tea, just add hot water! 

When you feel yourself starting to get a cold, drink as much of this Immune Boosting Superdrink Tea as possible!
